Gerhard A. Schiewe & Tangoproject
Tango is the new musical theme of Suzanna. An exciting field. On the one hand the Tango, on the other hand the more cheerful sister of the more melacholic Tango- the Milonga and of course in triple time the Vals. The traditional tango, which has been undergoing an astonishing development for decades, meets the tango nuevo, which was brought to life by the Argentine composer and exceptional musician Astor Piazzolla, in the varied program. The ensemble is made up of the Berlin singer Suzanna, the British-born Alice Dixon on cello, the Israeli violist Yakov Geller, and the Berliner-by-choice Gerhard A. Schiewe on accordion. Their common passion is the tango with all its sonorous facets. Musically they are influenced in different ways from jazz to classical and folklore. The arrangements come from the accordionist’s pen and are tailor-made for the ensemble.
The tango program is also available as a duet. With the singer Suzanna and the accordionist and composer Gerhard A. Schiewe.
