Gerhard A. Schiewe & Tango Project

Tango is the new musical theme of Suzanna. A fascinating field. On one side, there’s the Tango, and on the other side, the somewhat more cheerful sister of the rather melancholic Tango – the Milonga, and of course, in triple time, the Vals. The traditional Tango, which has experienced remarkable development for decades, meets the Tango Nuevo in this diverse program, initiated by the Argentine composer and exceptional musician, Astor Piazzolla. The ensemble is comprised of Berlin singer Suzanna, the English cellist Alice Dixon, Israeli violist Yakov Geller, and Berlin resident Gerhard A. Schiewe on the accordion. Their shared passion is Tango with all its rich facets. They are musically influenced in various ways, ranging from jazz to classical and folklore. The arrangements are crafted by the accordionist and tailored to the ensemble.

The Tango program is also available as a duet, featuring singer Suzanna and accordionist and composer Gerhard A. Schiewe.
